Offset Inks

Offset ink is a special type of ink used with offset presses, such as those used to produce letterpress or lithography prints. This type of ink is specially formulated to withstand other chemicals it will come into contact with in the press.

It is very important that offset ink is resistant to water emulsification in the ink (for example, repel water rather than absorbing it). It must also be resistant to degradation caused by fountain solution covering the non-printed areas of the engraved plate.
